It’s probably not as awesome looking as Lake Town will be in the movie when it comes out but I’m pretty happy with the results. The Hobbit is one of my most favorite stories and I couldn't help but attend Gnomon’s challenge this month of Esgaroth. I also felt this would give me a good chance to practice some matte painting too. I thought the Lonely Mountain would make a cool background element and you can also catch a glimpse of Smaug coming to visit Lake Town.
